Coding Interview AI Assistant for Live Technical Rounds

An AI assistant for coding interviews on video calls: it reads the task from your screen, walks you through the approach and keeps your explanation structured.

It reads the task from your screen

When the interviewer pastes a problem into a shared editor, you do not have time to retype it. One hotkey takes a screenshot, and Cloqa reads the task and returns the approach: what the problem is really asking, the idea, the steps, the complexity and the edge cases to mention. For a “find the bug” question it points at the line and explains why.

Explaining is half of the score

Interviewers grade how you think out loud, not only whether the code runs. Cloqa keeps the order for you: restate the problem, give the brute-force version, improve it, name the trade-offs. For system design it follows clarify, estimate, design, trade-off, and brings in the projects from your resume when the interviewer asks what you have built.

Where it is not meant to be used

Cloqa is for live interviews on video calls such as Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, where its overlay is a separate window excluded from screen capture on macOS and Windows. It is not meant for proctored coding platforms that lock or monitor your machine, for example HackerRank Desktop App Mode or CoderPad focus tracking: they can detect focus changes, and their rules forbid outside help.

Common use cases

  • Live coding with screen sharing
  • Debugging and code review questions
  • System design discussions

Why Cloqa

Generic AI tools do not understand a live interview timeline. Cloqa combines live transcription, your resume, the job description, uploaded documents, and a focused desktop app so the guidance stays relevant while the call is happening.

FAQ

Can AI help in a live coding interview?

Yes. Cloqa reads the task from a screenshot, suggests the approach and the edge cases, and keeps your explanation structured.

Does it work with shared editors?

It works with whatever is on your screen: a shared document, an online editor or your IDE. The overlay itself is excluded from screen capture.

Is it for HackerRank or CoderPad tests?

No. It is not meant for proctored coding platforms that monitor your machine. Use it on video interviews.

Does it help with system design?

Yes. It structures the answer as requirements, scale estimate, design and trade-offs, and uses your own projects as examples.

Can I try it before a real round?

Yes. Every account gets 5 free sessions of 10 minutes each, enough to rehearse a task with a friend.
